Listed on this page is information regarding basic classroom expectations. If you have any questions about the information contained on this page, please contact me at the school.
1. Homework
It is expected that students write all homework in their agenda at the end of each day. All work is given a due date, and should be completed by this assigned date. A student that does not get the homework done may be required to stay in during the lunch hour to complete the task. I realize that there may be extenuating circumstances that prevent a student from completing their work. If this is the case, please send a signed note or send me an email.
2. Absences
I realize that students will be absent for a variety of reasons throughout the year. If it is a planned absence, please try to let me know in advance so that I may discuss work with the student prior to their absence. If a student is away due to illness for more than a day, it would be helpful if arrangements could be made to pick up missed work from the school.
3. Gym Strip
It is expected that students are properly prepared to participate in P.E. classes. In order to do this, a child must have gym strip at school. The clothes worn for gym class must meet the dress code requirements of the school, and should include a t-shirt and either shorts, track pants, or jogging pants. Proper footwear (runners that may be tightened) is also expected. Shoes regularly worn outside are not gym shoes.
4. Tests and Quizzes
Students will need to be prepared for tests and quizzes throughout the year. Spelling tests will occur every Friday, with a 50 word review test being given after every five units. I will try to give one weeks notice prior to larger tests, but this may not always be possible. Students should also expect to receive "pop" quizzes every so often (usually in Math and Reading) that they will not have been forewarned about. These quizzes will be based on current topics of study, but may include some review. It is expected that students regularly review concepts at home throughout the year, particularly in Math.
